We use only iodised salt in our food. Organic and free range produce are seperately marked. Genetically modified products are not used at all. For years we have been demanding written guarantee from our supppliers, that the goods are not genetically modified product. We do our best to keep the use of addiditves at a minimum. Upon request we can give our guests all details of the food we serve. Please contact the chefs for further information.
… that the Studentenwerk abstains almost 100 flavour enhancers in their refectories?
Nevertheless it is obvious that we point out using them in the food. This is the following reason: Since two years the Studentenwerk stands up for the abolishment of flavour enhancers in general. It is not so easy for out size to turn this intention into action overnight. So many factors play a role, f.ex. food industry and the ancillary companies which have to be convinced of this plan. Only through permanent pressure of the Studentenwerk, the high personal input of the chefs and our buying department it was made possible that we have almost reached our aim. So we get delivered almost 100 of the food and products without flavour enhancers – and this in the variety, amount and quality our guests expect from us. It is a success we are proud of!
However we still point out the flavour enhancers in the foods on the menus because we want to make sure that the rare allergic persons also know what they can eat. Normally the dose is so low that we don’t have to make note concerning the flavour enhancers.
We feel responsible for the allergic people.
