What is the MensaCard?

The MensaCard is a cash free mean of payment in all locations of the Studentenwerk. It contains a very quick contactfree Mifare-Chip.
You can pay with it in all mensas and cafeterias of the Studentenwerk cash free.

What advantages do I have?

  • The payment process at the cash desk is shorter. With the MensaCard it lasts ca. 2 sec., with cash ca. 30 sec.
  • You carry less coins with you.

Who gets the MensaCard?

  • Students of the Universities and colleges of higher education which are managed by the Studentenwerk OstNiedersachsen,
  • Employees of the Studentenwerk, of the Universities and colleges of higher education
  • guests

Where can I get the MensaCard?

You can get the card at the cash desks of the mensas.

How much does the MensaCard cost?

The MensaCard is given out for 5,00 € deposit. You can grade up the card at the cash desk or at the machines with cash and you can start shopping right away.

Where and how can I upgrade the MensaCard?

You can upgrade the MensaCard at all machines in all mensa of the Studentenwerk and at the cash desks in the mensas and cafeterias for cash. You also get a bonus of 5% when upgrading at the machine.
The minimum amount with cash is 5 €. The maximum of the card is 60 € + bonus.

How do I pay with the MensaCard?

Put the MensaCard on either side on the devaluational machine at the cash desk and in less than 2 sec. the amount is been dismissed.
Take card away and keep it safe from damage.

What happens in case of lost of the MensaCard?

A new MensaCard can be received to the same condition as the first one.

What happens in case of return of the MensaCard?

In case of return the deposit of 5 € is been recharged. Requirement is the undamaged card. In any case a maximum of 20 € can be recharged.
The 5 % bonus which is given during the upgrading at the machine, is not payed.
