Tasks of the Social counselling service

The social counselling is often a first contact for personal, social and financial problems which evolve during your studies. In the foreground is the personal counselling and information in one to one sessions, partly in groups – e.g. to finance study end. Often it’s a matter of complex problems in which personal, financial or organisational problems intertwine.

Sometimes can be a short information be enough to solve a problem. Often there has to follow a more intensive help for decision making processes and the ways of solving this problem. Many a time is a procuration to other counselling institutes (e.g. Central Study counselling, psychotherapical counselling), to authorities (e.g. job centre, housing benefit office) or to a legal counselling needed.

Other tasks are among other things, the contentwise aid of the social information published by the Studentenwerk, the development of new informational material and the development of loans.

The counselling is always anonymous and confidential.
